Promethean
board is a current technology that has emerged in the last few years and has
shaped the learning and productivity helped education. There are some problems
and challenges associated with using the Promethean board. Funding is the first
problem for Promethean boards and the second problem is the proper training. Promethean
improves learning productivity by educators developing an innovative technology
in the 21st century learning environments that work. Regardless of the pitfalls
I’ve observed that the Promethean board keeps students and teachers actively involved
in learning and resolves different challenges of teaching various students live
in a technological world.

Interactive technology is very important and a great asset to include in today's classrooms. This does indeed help to provide more student engagement in the classrooms and promote learning.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great cognitive tool for educators. With funding being one of the major setbacks, I would find it hard to implement the technology and use tablets for each student to interact with Prometheus. There are some tools that will have to be implemented before we leave our students behind, in a highly interactive world. Are you familiar with assessment outcomes for the technology? It may be easier to justify the cost of both the devices and training.

DeleteThis is a great cognitive tool for all educators. Even though funding is a major issue different school systems have funds available to assist with the purchase of Promethean boards. Once a Promethean is purchase is includes 30 devices. The devices will assist assessments outcomes. The students can take a paperless assessment and the test can be used as data.

The both sound familiar. You are absolutely right about the proper training. There are so many features for the SMART Board and half the teachers at my school are not equipped with the knowledge to use them. Training is crucial!!!

DeleteThe Smart board and Promethean board are the same. Those are just two different names they use for the board. I totally agree that training is crucial. This is one major reason why I selected educational technology for my specialist degree. With such a high need for training I am hoping that more jobs will open in that area.
